Yesterday I was speaking with a friend. He has published a book on Dhamma for beginners and is running a small retreat house although getting old. Lately, after a stroke he forgets and becomes more and more dement. When we talked he said he was concerned about forgetting the Dhamma and thus not being able to continue to strive for streamentry.
Fortunately I remembered the sutta SN 25.1 Where the Buddha clearly sais that even when one has not become a streamenterer, when one follows the path of the Dhamma or whenone has great faith, one would not go the wrong way but be bound to go into the good direction. To know this was a great relief for the friend.
